Peter was born and raised in the swamp country of southern Georgia, but the heat and bugs soon drove him out. He graduated from Duke University, then spent time in the English Lakes District and Steamboat Springs, Colorado -- and eventually settled in the San Francisco area. He remembers the day a person first walked on the moon.
He worked with black and white film for many years, primarily medium format, and spent many, many hours in a darkroom. Currently his process is entirely digital, using Lightroom, PhotoShop, a variety of plug-ins, Canon cameras and Epson printers.
Peter's early works were personal fine art projects; for the last decade he has focused on documenting the work of several arts-based non-profit (NGO) organizations.
