This theater class, held in a chapel, is taught by the Red Ladder Company; the instructors are Karen Altree Piemme, Steven Ho, and Roman Gonzalez.
The first exercise this evening involved three small rubber balls—each with its own rule of movement, like with chess pieces—being simultaneously passed, tossed, and bounced around and across the circle. This focused everyone, who had just finished dinner. You will also see, later in the evening, a re-enactment of Sully Sullenberger landing an airplane on the Hudson River.
The class is part of Arts in Corrections (www.artsincorrections.org), which is funded by California's Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and administered by the California Arts Council.
