Class this day did not go as planned by the Prison Arts Collective. In one of those cases where the best laid plans go awry, the men with whom we intended to work that day were locked down—so the instructors quickly pivoted to a different yard and some theatrical exercises. Instructors for this class were John Rodriguez and Annie Buckley; visiting on this day were Vin Ryan, a teaching artist from Australia who works with incarcerated Aboriginal students and was visiting PAC on a fellowship; and Ginny Oshiro, a member of the PAC research team and a doctoral student at the University of California, Irvine.

For the first time in two years, folks inside were not required to wear face coverings.

The class is part of Arts in Corrections (www.artsincorrections.org), which is funded by California's Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and administered by the California Arts Council.
