This photo portrait workshop was sponsored by the Prison Arts Collective. In the past I have only made photos of other folks teaching, so this was a relatively new approach for me. We did not have access to cameras or computers that the men could use, so I took in a projector and we viewed and discussed the porttaits I made of the men, as we built the lighting design in steps.

The class is part of Arts in Corrections (www.artsincorrections.org), which is funded by California's Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and administered by the California Arts Council.
