This mural at Pelican Bay State Prison is part of a collaborative arts workshop, facilitated by the Cal Poly Humboldt chapter of Prison Arts Collective (PAC). After several weeks of brainstorming and preparation, the class is now putting paint on the wall of the gym in Alpha yard.
This is the fourth PAC collaborative arts workshop funded by the National Endowment for the Arts. The teaching artists are Mark Taylor, MSW 2024 Cal Poly Humboldt and PAC alumnus, and Professor James Woglom, faculty director of PAC at Cal Poly Humboldt.
