Yaotl Orozco and Zacarias Bernal are the teaching artists for Tia Chucha’s Cultural Music class. Yaotl is also part of the band of Aztlan Unearthed. The teaching artists were joined by Aztlan Unearthed members, Frank Aragon, Joe Galarza and Ignacio Lopez. This mini concert brought together the band and participants of the class to celebrate through music their accomplishments throughout the class. The class met weekly to share indigenous rhythms, and shared together their healing experiences. Throughout the class they had cultural exchanges, and shared memories and teachings from their home communities.

The class is part of Arts in Corrections (www.artsincorrections.org), which is funded by California's Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and administered by the California Arts Council.
